Brent Cross is set to change. Home to the UK’s first stand-alone shopping centre (1976), this part of North-West London does not seem to have moved on since then.
Plans for redevelopment mean that the area could soon look very different. But what kind of change will the regeneration herald? How different will the new Brent Cross look and feel?
This photographic project is an exploration of urban life and the gap that so often exists between reality and aspiration. Specifically, it marks my process of discovering and rediscovering the place in which I live; an attempt to come to grips with the reality of the present Brent Cross – My Brent Cross – before it changes for ever.
